Two luxury suites are available within the vineyard setting, offering 5 star accommodation, with the emphasis being on a whole wine experience.  A cellar door is situated within the estate and is open daily between 11am and 4.30pm for tastings and bottle sales and visitors, who stay in the accommodation, are encouraged to taste the wines and are educated about the wine making process and sustainable viticultural practices.

The cellar door is also used to exhibit Christine's stunning artwork and provides a range of merchandise including Milcrest embossed clothing, locally grown Macadamia nuts and oils.  Our Milcrest Label was designed by Christine and is an actual painting that hangs on-site.

Prior to 2006, the property was used to grow export boysenberries, before being converted to a vineyard producing premium quality grapes.

The Nelson wine region of New Zealand is well known for its stunning, award winning, aromatic style wines, in particular Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurtztramminer and Riesling varieties.

Nelson has two distinct grape growing areas within the region, the Tasman area, which contain deep rich Moutere clays and the Waimea Plains which contain stony alluvial river gravels.

In 2008, Milcrest Estate  launched its first vintage of boutique wines, producing a gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc from grapes grown on the homeblock and a full bodied 2008 Milcrest Pinot Noir, which is now drinking superbly.  The 2010 vintage saw the addition of a 2009 Milcrest Estate Pinot Gris,  a 2009 Reserve Chardonnay and a 2009 Syrah.

2010 saw the 2010 - Sauvignon Blanc awarded Silver medals at the prestigious Romeo Bragato Wine Awards in 2010 and 2011 and again at the 2010 Canterbury International Aromatic Wine Competition.

In August of 2011 Milcrest Estate's 2010 Pinot Noir was awarded a Gold medal at the NZ International Wine Show.  This is a stunning wine from a stunning Nelson vintage.  The 09 Pinot Gris received another Silver medal at the same show.

The 2012 Royal Easter Show saw our 2010 Syrah awarded a Gold medal and the 2011 5 Stars from Michael Cooper for Winestate Magazine.  The 2012 Syrah has been awarded 4 Stars Cuisine and 93 Points from Lex Howard, Sydney Australia.

Our wines are gaining great momentum and are now available throughout New Zealand at selected fine wine shops and wine retailers.  Our point of difference is, that we do not supply any supermarkets, except for the local independently owned Fresh Choice, keeping our brand premium and Sought after.

In 2012 we began exporting to China, our first container of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc landed on 4th January 2013. We see this as huge potential market for Milcrest Estate and have Japan and South East Asia in our sights for 2013.  We now have a subsidiary company, Milcrest Japan up and running and are exporting directly to Tokyo.  We also have just established export markets in Australia, Hong Kong, Macau and soon to be South Africa.
